Understand the programme

A certification seal is useful when you understand the checks behind it. NSF dietary supplement certification includes label review, ingredient assessment and contaminant review. Its Certified for Sport programme adds screening for substances prohibited in sport.

Verify the exact product

Read the programme description and verify the exact product in the certifier’s directory. A certification on one product does not automatically cover every item from the same brand.

Know the limits

Quality assurance seals do not guarantee safety or effectiveness, as NIH explains. Treat a seal as evidence about the checks performed, alongside the product label and relevant research.

Check the product, the scope and the date

Open the certifier’s own directory and match the brand, product name, market and variant. Check any lot or batch limitation. Save the directory link and the date you checked it. If you cannot match the exact product, record the status as not verified; do not infer certification from another product in the range. NutraRadar has not verified exact-product certification for the five records in this collection.
